Local tier (no API key needed): falls, tripwire zones, inactivity/absence timers, and sound profiles all run on on-device models — instant, free, nothing leaves the device. AI tier (API key): stove, kids, confusion, mistreatment, plus confirmation of ambiguous local flags. Heartbeat scans catch motionless hazards. Settings live in this browser's localStorage, including the API key.

KEEPWATCH is a caregiving aid, not a certified medical-alert or life-safety device — keep dedicated fall pendants and smoke alarms in place. The microphone is used only if sound profiles are enabled, and audio is classified live on-device — never stored or uploaded. If this camera watches caregivers or guests, check your state's recording and disclosure rules first.
